That error typically means the drive has failed.  See this

This is to used as a guide.  Read thru it for ideas.  Replace the drive or try this drive in another PC as a data drive.  That page is also an advertisement for a software, but disregard that unless you are looking for an easy way to clone to a new drive, but there are others was to do that also.
