Product: OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop PC GT22-0000a (4E977AV)

Hi all

 

I want to install a Linux distro. Previously I want to remove the boot SSD-M.2 for security reasons and only use it again when Linux is installed on another SSD-M.2.
But I can not find the boot SSD. I see an SSD-M.2 under the graphics card. But this is not the boot SSD. I own the PC model HP OMEN 45L Gaming Desktop GT22. (Sept. 2022).

I suspect that I have found the boot SSD. It is hidden under a heat sink above the graphics card. I didn't know that SSDs could be cooled. That's why I overlooked it. I can now continue tomorrow Tuesday.

After removing the enclosure door of your PC you should find the hard drive bay and cradles are located in the bottom front section of the PC. Remove the power and data cable connections, squeeze the tabs and remove the drive.

 

Go to 48:28 to see how to remove the legacy hard drive

Is my translation from German to American so bad that you don't understand what I wrote above? I am looking for the installed SSD M.2 hard drive, which is the boot hard drive. Where on the mailboard is it installed.

 

I know the above Youtube video very well. But in this case it does not help.

In the video do you see where the M.2 SSD removal is?

That is the only M.2 SSD that the PC was delivered with, so you had already found it.

You want to know my PC setup better than me? You are wrong.

I ask you to stop writing to me.

There are two SSDs installed (2TB-C: and 4TB D- + E-Partition). The 4TB-SSD I installed myself under the graphics card (after purchase). The original C-Plate must be placed somewhere hidden on the mainboard.
