Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The computer has the 310W PSU, I would like to locate and purchase the 400W LO4618-800. I want to add either a 1660ti or 2050 video card. Will the 400W PSU fit the 590's case? If yes, where can I find that PSU? Thanks for any help.

@Dansko111,

I do have an interesting question.  The 310W PSU.  What is its model number  (L03980-800 or L64961-800) and does it come with PCIe 6 pin power?  Been working on a database spreadsheet for months on this issue.  Your answer can help.

The GTX 1660Ti is a 120W card.  Would you like to explain the "2050".   An RTX 2050 does not exist to my knowledge.  An RTX 2060 is a 160W card.  I have some doubts on a 400W, but that's your choice.

You can order any PSU you desire from HP Parts  Any listed PSU on my spreadsheet works with those units.

Hello, My unit is a 590-P0071 with the PSU LO3980-800. The PSU does have a 6 pin plug and powers a GTX 1050Ti (75W) with no problems. I would like to run a GTX 1660Ti or Super (120/125W) which takes a 6 pin power connector. I believe a 400W PSU should have plenty of power to run a 125W video card. From your chart it looks like the 400W LO4618-800 and the O42332-800 have the 8 pin power connector for the card. From your chart the 500W LO5757-800 also has an 8 pin power connector.

Question is will any or all these PSUs fit my case without modifications? The case has plenty of room but the PSU will need to be shaped correctly to fit the available space and align with the screw holds to mount it.  Also, I'm concerned that the more powerful PSU will have the proper power connector for the Lincs MB. Thanks for responding.

I failed to say that the specs for the Nvidia 1660Ti card recommends a 350W PSU for that card, that's why I said a 400W PSU should run that card without issues.

@Dansko111,

All the PSU in the list have the proper plugs.  The 400W 942332-001 has more wires than the 180W on the inline 7 pin plug, but that has not caused an issue.  These PSU units all sit in the bottom of the case, so the forward latch stops forward movement. The rear will catch at least 1 screw.  I am linking an example of the HP 690 and the 500W.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZONvASopvc

No one has ever send a pic of the conversion,, or made a video of the 400W upgrade.

I looked at your answer and video. I had a hard time following your reply when you talked about the wires for a 180W PSU. As I understand, you say that the three PSUs I listed have the proper MB plugs but, do all three fit the 590's case? The 400W LO4618-800 and O42332-800 as well as the 500W LO5757-800 appear to have the proper MB connectors and an 8 pin connector to power the GTX 1660Ti video card that I would like to use. If I understand correctly the PSU that you recommend would only line-up with one screw hole. I assume that the rear fan in your recommended PSU is larger than the hole provided by the 590 case. That could cause problems removing hot air. The Nvidia site says that a 350W PSU will provide enough power for the card, however, several of the makers say a 450W PSU is needed. That's why I would like to know if the HP 500W PSU (LO5757-800) will fit the case and align for the three screws. Thanks for responding.
