I have an HP 710 Wireless Keyboard Mouse Combo I need to replace. I've having a problem with the mouse. Do I have to buy another HP 710 or, can I purchase another brand that is compatible with this? Thank you!

Hi @Kendall8440,

I understand your HP 710 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo is having issues with the mouse, and you’re wondering if you must replace the entire combo or if another brand will work. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check Receiver Pairing

The HP 710 keyboard and mouse share a single USB receiver.

If the mouse fails, you cannot replace it alone with another HP or non‑HP mouse unless it comes with its own receiver.

Test with Another Mouse

You can connect any other wireless or Bluetooth mouse from HP or another brand.

It will work fine, but it will use its own receiver or Bluetooth connection, separate from the HP 710 keyboard.

Consider USB Port Usage

Using a different brand mouse means you’ll have two receivers: one for the HP keyboard and one for the new mouse.

This is fully functional but requires two USB ports.

Replace the Full Combo for Single Receiver Use

If you prefer one receiver for both keyboard and mouse, you’ll need to replace the entire combo.

HP offers other wireless combos (like HP KM200 or HP CS10) that work the same way.

Bluetooth Option

A Bluetooth mouse avoids using a USB receiver altogether.

This is a good choice if you want to save USB ports and mix brands freely.

I hope this helps.
