I wanted to know which generation of NVMe ssd drives should i buy for my motherboard, or better yet, which M2 slot do i have, i could just find out that i have M.2 socket 3 Mkey slot.

Will i be able to use NVMe PCIe 3 ssd ?
I dont even know if my M.2 slot supports nvme, any help is welcomed.!
Hp pavillon 580-100ng is desktop model

The motherboard supports NVMe drives, but they don't run to their fullest potential.

 

Solved: NVMe SSD running at PCIE2.0 not PCIE3.0 - HP Support Community - 7503488

 

That would still be better (faster) than a SATA M.2 SSD.
