I7-4790k support RP5 POS system

HP Recommended
Rp5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have three HP RP5/5810 pos systems. My POS system software is so overloaded, it takes 3.5 minutes from cold start until I get my POS screen.  This is after also upgrading to Windows 10-64bit.  This is after upgrading to a i7-4770k and ssd. I would like to upgrade the processor to a i7-4790k. Will the bios support this processor?

@Gerry240 , welcome to the forum.

I am not certain that the i7-4790K would work because it was released a year after your POS, but even it did work, I don't believe that you would see a major system performance increase.  Here is a comparison of the I7-4770K and the i7-4790K by Intel:  https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/compare.html?productIds=80807,75123

I suggest that you upgrade the memory to the maximum of 32 GB, if you haven't done so.  Here is the Quick Specs for the POS:  https://www8.hp.com/us/en/pdf/HP_RP5_Retail_System_Model_5810_QuickSpecs_WWPIT_tcm_245_1681185.pdf

If you look at the section titled "Memory Configurations" it shows you type of memory and how to add it.  Maximum memory would increase system performance more than a processor upgrade, IMHO.
