HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0024

will the HP L07304-001 500w PSU work on HP Pavillion gaming desktop 690-0024they seem identical i also don't want to spend around 90 bucks on the L05757-800 I'm looking for a cheaper alternative if there's any.

@Geo119,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

The 500-watt power supply with p/n: L07304-001 was designed for an HP Z2 G4 Minitower WorkStation, but I see what you mean: the "P2" power connector appears to be identical and wired the same as in an L05757-800 power supply:

I would say: see if you can purchase the HP L07304-001 power supply from a Seller who allows for returns if this power supply were not to work out in your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0024.

The worst that could happen -at least in my anecdotal experience, is that your desktop will not power up/boot correctly.  If that happens, immediately disconnect power and return the power supply to Seller.

unfortunately, the power supply doesn't fit where it is meant to, it is a bit bigger than the original power supply my PC has. The p3 cable also isn't long enough to reach the top so it didn't work out

@Geo119,

Thank you for sharing this information!  It really is too bad that it didn't work out. This process of elimination is something I am very familiar with; you learn through trial and error.

Wishing you well,
