HP Pavilion 590-a0005nl

Hi,

Just received my new computer HP Pavilion 590-a0005nl and would like to add a 2T hard drive already in my possession.

But I opened and ... Looks nearly empty!

No slides, no drive cage, no connectors.

I gather motherboard is CliviaA9, and main SSD is pcie - https://support.hp.com/it-it/document/c06293951

How I am supposed to do that.

@user43,

Here is what I can glean from the HP documents, so please verify.

1) Here is the upgrade manual.  As noted , it is the series manual. Motherboards and hardware are not specific to your model.  You will have to look at hardware positions. pgs 8,9,12,13

2) Here is your exact model.   Note the boot device is motherboard M.2 NVMe 256GB SSD. There is also a DVD drive. Follow the 8 pin SATA power plug to your DVD drive. You should find a spare SATA power on the cable.

3) The motherboard only has 2 SATA data headers.  One is being used by the DVD drive, so you can add your hard drive to the system using the unused SATA data header. You need (1) SATA3 data cable and (4) 8/32 screws.

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..
