OMEN Desktop 870-120st
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Is it possible to install a Seagate 10TB BarraCuda Pro 7200RPM SATA 6GB/s 256MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Hard Drive into an OMEN Desktop 870-120st?  Is there an open bay and connection to the motherboard and an available power supply? Can this desktop handle a 10TB drive?  Thanks.

Hello

You are welcome.

You are good to go. HP has been using EFI BIOS and GPT since 2012.

A BIOS update should not be required to use a large HDD in your new PC.

There is a BIOS update at your PC's HP Support site (A0.38 Rev. A). No need to install if your pC is working good.

Hello

You have no HDD size issue to worry about using windows 10 64 bit operating system with GPT and EFI BIOS.

My HP PC's all had room for up to three HDD's or SSD's. Open case and take a look.

You have at least five SATA ports on motherboard. Your power supply should have spare connectors for HDD or SSD.

Thanks for the info. So just to be sure, will an OMEN PC with a new install of Windows 10 64-bit come with GPT and EFI BIOS setup automatically or will the out-of-the-box BIOS need to be updated?
