Installing Larger HD or SD.  SATA Type?  (I?, II?, III?)  - - Also OS Cloning software?

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

I don't know what to tell you.

This PC was manufactured in 2008. Probably SATA II.

I don't know if the newer Advanced Format (AF) HDDs will work in your PC.

You may have to look on eBay or similar sites for a used or refurbished Non AF HDD.

Cloning software is a non starter unless you can find a compatible HDD.

Regards

@BobPS,

Your computer is rather old, but I like the premise.

First of all, the OS dictates that your brower selection is limited.  Internet Explorer is likely only version 9.  Support for IE 9 ceases soon. You can not use IE 10 or 11.  See the debate here on what ceases to work and when.

If you still on the internet, you atl east need to upgrade to WIN 7.  That will give you access to IE11 after about 150 updates. But WIn 7 support expires 1-14-2020

The motherboard is SATA 300. Newer drives at SATA 600.  Cloning is not an issue, as both Seagate and WD offer a free disk wizard program. IHMO and experience, WD is better.
