What is the max size internal hard drive in TBs can my Omen 880-150t use in it's hard drive bays?  I tried a 10TB Seagate Iron Wolf drive and it crashed everything.  Had to re-install the operating system and everything.  Fortunately

My needs are actually quite simple.  I'm just looking to add a large amount of internal storage so I can eliminate the smaller external drives I have.  I'm not a gamer so speed isn't a major factor.  If I can put a drive in that runs at 7200rpm, that would be great.  I'm just wondering, based on the fact that the Iron Wolf 10TB didn't work, if your recommendation of the Barracuda Pro series 10TB would work.  The concern is that 10TB is too big for my system and that a smaller drive would work.  If that's the case, I just want to know how big a drive I can drop in.  Thanks.

@krigger,

Did you really understand that drive is a NAS device.  , for NAS systems , as stated here.     It is not normal for a home computer.  As the 150t can be a configurable unit, what is your existing setup for devices?

Are you using the M.2 socket 3, key M with an NVMe SSD ? It is 5x faster than a hard drive !

The WIN partition must not exceed 2 TB.  In your case, it must be formatted also as GPT.

Thanks for the reply.  I am the first to admit that I am not knowledgeable about this drive being a NAS (and what it is ultimately designed for) device, as well as the configuration setup you asked about.  I have a 1TB hard drive in the 150t.  I have several portable external hard drives connected via the usb ports.  Since this drive didn't work the way I thought it would, I put it in a SATA hard drive enclosure and plugged it into a 3.0 usb port.  It works fine as an external drive.  What I'm looking for, basically, is a plug-and-play internal drive I can put into one of the 150t's drive caddies (or bays, whatever it's called).  I need to know the max storage size that I can use.  I know 10TB doesn't work, at least with that Iron Wolf drive.

@krigger,

Can you explain why you need such a drive?  If your not using it to boot the OS, the Seagate Barracuda Pro series (10 TB).

 If you trying to increase boot and performance, what is in your M.2 socket 3, key M space.   An NVMe SSD in that socket is 5 times faster than any hard drive.
