Does the Compaq Presario CQ5320Y PC have an internal internet part or do I need an external thing to get internet

@shcohen , welcome to the forum.

 

You have what is known as a RJ45 Network connector on the back of your computer.

It is Item # 3 in the diagram above.  If you have a way to connect with a hard wire this will work.  If you want to use a wireless connection you will need a wireless adapter.  Here is a page of wireless adapters at Newegg:  https://www.newegg.com/Wireless-Adapters/SubCategory/ID-31

 

I suggest that you contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to see what they recommend that you use.  Normally, the ISP will furnish the necessary router.  You will have to furnish the wireless adapter.
