hi,

i've tried the hp print and scan doctor 5.5.2 which has detected a problem with the printer front panel settings.

it says to start the "hp solution center" - i cannot start it, how do i do it - to choose "settings" ... "scan settings" ... "scan to...setup" and to add the available scan short cuts to the  printer front panel list to resolve the problem.

HOW!?!

would be very grateful. the deskjet f380 itself is ok. (re)installing the/a new hp solution center is the problem.

cheers and stay healthy.

@mozzart

I recommend you root uninstall the printer and then reinstall it and check whether the issue is resolved.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Restart the PC

14.) Download and install the printer software from the below link.

hi,

i've done everything you suggested.

the printer prints and scans, but not with the hp solution centre. when i press the icon the ominous f/i keeps showing.

since i don't seem to have the original installation cd-rom, i've checked the internet and have found the following:

  •
  • Burn a Replacement Disc
  •
  • Downloading the software and burning your own replacement CD may seem like a more viable option if you have high-speed Internet access and a writable disc drive. You can find the downloadable version of your printer's software and firmware on the HP support site page for your printer. You can download and install both of these programs along with any updates HP has issued since releasing your printer and diagnostic tools. All of these programs can be burned to the same disc for backup purposes, but they can be installed directly from the computer in lieu of a writable optical drive. The driver-product installation link contains all the software necessary for your computer to run the printer. The firmware updates the program on the printer itself. You can burn these files to a writable optical disc after downloading them through Windows Explorer's disc-authoring program.
  •
  • any chance you can help me with that. the file

  AIO_CDB_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_140_408-4.exe

  •  doesn't(seem to) do the trick.

i'm about to despair.

stay safe.

hi there,

this actually is the first thing i did.

answer: this model is no longer supported, no more warranty after 4 years, no more assistance given. turn to a repair shop.

poor show!

get a new printer - that's what it boils down to.

however, thank you for trying to help.

cheers
