Hi @Vishal160,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your keyboard or mouse is not functioning properly, there might be several causes and solutions to resolve the problem. Here's a guide to help you troubleshoot:

Keyboard Problems

Keystrokes Not Recognized:

  • Inspect for Dust: Check if there is dust or debris under the keyboard keys that might be blocking them.

  • Check Connection: Ensure the keyboard connector is properly connected to the computer.

  • Verify in Device Manager: Check if the keyboard is recognized in Windows Device Manager and verify that the keyboard driver is correctly installed.

  • Test with External Keyboard: Use a working external keyboard to identify if the issue persists.

  • Hardware Diagnostics: Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics to isolate a hardware problem from a software issue.

Loose or Detached Keys:

  • Ensure that key caps are not loose and are securely attached.

Keyboard Functionality:

Mouse Problems

Cursor Not Responding:

  • Reconnect: Unplug the mouse cable from the computer, and then reconnect it. Restarting the computer can help recognize the device.

  • Clean: If using a rollerball mouse, clean the ball with a damp, lint-free cloth and ensure the rollers are free of dirt.

  • Optical Issues: If using an optical mouse, place it on a mouse pad or white paper, and ensure the light sensor lens is clean.

Cursor Moves Vertically/Horizontally:

  • Check for Dirt: Dirt trapped might cause jerky movement; clean the mouse thoroughly.

Wireless Device Error:

  • Battery Check: Replace the device batteries if applicable.

  • Reset Receiver: Reset the mouse receiver if the wireless connection is unstable.

Connection Issues:

  • Ensure the mouse is properly plugged into the correct port. For USB mouse devices, verify that the USB port is functional and check for driver updates.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
