OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 880-079ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello!

I recently purchased an OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 880-079ur. After installing the system, I found a problem.

When I turn the computer on or wake it up from hibernation mode, the rear fan starts running at 100%, which causes an error 90b (System Fan (90b) The system has detected that a cooling fan is not operating correctly. The system will shutdown in 15 seconds...).

When checking SpeedFan it shows that the speed of the rear cooler is 5084 RPM at idle.

There is no dust in the coolers. The bios is updated to the latest version.

A similar question was asked in 2018, but there is no solution to this problem there: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Operating-Systems-and-Recovery/Loud-fan-CPU-cooling-on-new-HP-....

I tried to force slow it down, but Speedfan and hwinfo64 are not able to do it. Most likely you can't do that on the HP motherboard.

Now the problem has gone to the next level - the computer only starts on the second attempt.
> Clicking the power button - the coolers start to work on 100%
> Coolers slow down - everything goes out, the system doesn't load
> On the second attempt to start - the coolers start quietly and the system starts to load

I would appreciate any advice!

Hi! No, it's not new and has no warranty unfortunately.
I've bought it in the studio I work, it had no issues while being in the studio and now they have appeared.

Yeah, you might be right. I will hard reset the system if no other solutions will be found. I just was hoping to find the software one.

Upd: I've reset Windows - the issue still takes place, so all the advices are still welcome

System Fan (90b) The system has detected that a cooling fan is not operating correctly. The system will shutdown in 15 seconds.

To resolve the error, take the following steps:
--------------------
If the error message persists, continue with these steps.
----------------------
if the error message still persists, contact HP.
--------------------
if all the steps don't help, as i indicated, there is fear to be a hardware problem
there is nothing we can do here
the computer, no longer guaranteed, you must either try to repair yourself, or go see a professional
If it is only the fan to replace, it would be fine
