I want to replace the HDD on my HP desktop with an M.2 SSD, but I am not sure which screw type to use for the M.2 SSD and do I need a special riser under the screw?

@Ma200 -- I am slightly surprised that there is no screw present on the M.2 socket "just in case".

No, to any riser.

I looked at: HP PartSurfer (click this link)

and there is no listing for any "screw" parts.

Further, most of the listed parts show as "N/A".  Sigh.

Maybe, your local owner/operator computer-store will have a compatible screw ???
