Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've recently upgraded the memory to two sticks of G.Skill RipJaw PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600). According to the HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - Motherboard Specifications, MS-7826 (Kaili), the motherboard should support both DDR3-1333 and DDR3-1600 DIMMs.

 

Using Speccy and UserBenchmarks, I"ve confirmed that the 1600s are only running at 1333. Confirmed that the BIOS (AMI 80.24) is the latest avilable through HP. No BIOS settings allow me to select an XMP profile to tweek the RAM speed.

 

Any suggestions for getting the full 1600?

Did you add 2 more sticks of memory???

 

If so what is the speed of the other sticks???

Looks like it is a CTO machine which has the following options

 

Must select one of the following options:

    8 GB (1 x 8 GB) DDR3 PC3-12800
    10 GB (1 x 8 GB, 1 x 2 GB) DDR3 PC3-12800
    12 GB (1 x 8 GB, 1 x 4 GB) DDR3 PC3-12800
    16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3 PC3-12800
    32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR3 PC3-12800

Now, please try the following test: Pull out two new sticks and using CPU-Z or other tool to see which speed the existing RAM running.

Sorry--I wasn't clear about that. I removed the OEM 8 GB stick of Hynix 12800 and install the two new RipJaw sticks. The total onboard is 16 GB (just the two new sticks).

Some HP PCs when the memory in populated to 16GB then the clock frequency actually drops.  This might be your situation.  Additionally, all of the HP dimms for your model PC are CL11 and not CL9 as you have purchased.

 

As you discovered, XMP profiles are not supported. Typically using XMP, clocks and voltages both change.

 

Also missing from your post is the actual slots that you populated with the new dimms.
