@Ludo1404, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The issue you're experiencing with your HP ENVY All-in-One 27-b256ng—where the mouse cursor jumps to the upper-left corner after a few minutes—is a known problem that can be caused by several factors, including driver conflicts, touch screen interference, or pointer settings. Here are some steps you can try to resolve it:

Disable "Enhance Pointer Precision"

This setting can sometimes cause erratic cursor behavior.

  • Press Windows + R, type main.cpl, and press Enter.
  • Go to the Pointer Options tab.
  • Uncheck “Enhance pointer precision.”
  • Click Apply and OK.

Check for Touchscreen Interference

If your model has a touchscreen, it might be sending phantom touches.

  • Open Device Manager (Windows + X → Device Manager).
  • Expand Human Interface Devices.
  • Right-click HID-compliant touch screen and choose Disable device.
  • Restart your PC and check if the issue persists.

Update or Reinstall Mouse Drivers

Corrupt or outdated drivers can cause erratic behavior.

  • In Device Manager, expand Mice and other pointing devices.
  • Right-click your mouse and choose Update driver.
  • If that doesn’t help, choose Uninstall device, then restart your PC to reinstall it automatically.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

To rule out hardware issues:

  • Restart your PC and press F2 repeatedly to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Choose Component TestsMouse/Touchpad and run the tests.

Check for External Devices

Sometimes, a faulty USB device (like a drawing tablet or second mouse) can cause interference. Try unplugging all peripherals except the main mouse and keyboard.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
