Missing Hard drive

There is no other question that addresses this. I have a machine that is missing the hard drive. The owner is suspected of criminal acvtivity. We want to subpoena the drive and make sure he hands over the right one. Is it possible for Hp to take the machine UUID or the serial number of the machine, reference the manufacturign files and provide the serial number of the hard drive that was installed when the machine left the factory? Thank you for any help. This case involves children. It will help keep more children safe to catch this creep.
