I have an HP Pavilion 23 xi monitor connected by HDMI to my Macbook pro to use as a second monitor.  The screen will go black within 30 minutes of use, the power button will not work  and the only way to get the monitor back on is to unplug and plug in the power cord.  WHY is this happening??? Please Help

I have a Macbook pro,  it doesnt seem to have a driver to support the monitor as an option  any other suggesttions?
