HP Envy x360

My HP Envy x360 Convertible line laptop's right Hinge broke and from what I have seen it is a very common issue with a recent lawsuit coming out over it :c. I posted about it online to see if anyone could help but it seems the only solution is a makeshift DIY or a 400$ repair that I cannot afford caused by the laptops malfunction. I've never dropped my laptop or even moved it, it sits in my office everyday and unfortunately the warranty wore off.

@ILoveMyLaptop,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

From one user to another: I genuinely feel for you!  Defective laptop hinges are one of the most frustrating and inconveniencing issues we as volunteers see quite regularly, and there is nothing we can do for you other than pointing to DIY solutions or commercial repair services.

Yes, some HP laptop models are known for hinge issues, but the problem is not unique to them. It is a broader industry challenge that affects many laptop brands and models.

The only advise I can give you beyond whatever HP is willing to do for you, is to consider looking into extended warranty options or protection plans in the future. These can provide added peace of mind for situations like this.

Wishing you well!

Kind Regards,
