My laptop can't be closed nor opened without half of the screen trim coming off

My computer was purchased about a year ago. Only recently I have been unable to close and open my laptop.  The trim around my screen was pulled off by half of my left plastic hinge, the bottom half. The hinge is in great condition and will even clip back on, but the issue is internally. I don't know how to fix this. I am unable to open or close the lid for because of the broken connection on the left side, my plastic bottom hinge will not move, thus tearing my trim off the lid when I try to open or close.
