Hi @Gabi12375,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing a technical issue with your gaming laptop, specifically with your GPU disappearing and causing crashes. There could be several reasons why this is happening, and it's important to troubleshoot to identify the root cause. Here are some steps you can take.
- Update GPU Drivers: Make sure your GPU drivers are up to date. Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause issues with hardware recognition and stability. You can download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website or by using GeForce Experience for NVIDIA GPUs.
- Check for Overheating: Overheating can cause hardware malfunctions and crashes. Use monitoring software to check the temperature of your GPU while gaming. If it's running too hot, you may need to improve ventilation or consider cleaning out any dust from your laptop's cooling system.
- Run Diagnostic Tests: Many laptops come with built-in diagnostic tools that can help identify hardware issues. Check if your laptop has any diagnostic utilities and run tests on your GPU and other components to see if any problems are detected.
- Check for BIOS Updates: Sometimes BIOS updates can improve hardware compatibility and stability. Check if there are any BIOS updates available for your laptop and apply them if necessary. Be careful when updating BIOS, as a failed update can potentially brick your laptop.
- Inspect Hardware Connections: Ensure that your GPU is properly seated in its slot and that all connections are secure. Loose connections can cause intermittent issues with hardware detection.
- Check for Software Conflicts: Sometimes conflicts with other software can cause issues with hardware. Try running your games with all non-essential programs closed to see if the problem persists.
- Reset Windows: If all else fails, you may need to consider resetting Windows to its default settings. This can help eliminate any software-related issues that may be causing conflicts with your hardware.
By systematically troubleshooting these potential causes, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue with your gaming laptop crashing when using the GPU.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I tried everything you told me to do software and it still crashes, I believe the laptop has a problem with the gpu or motherboard but I think the laptop needs a repair as it is broken on the inside of the laptop, where could i make a booking repair appointment?

I suggest running the free versoin of WhoCrashed? utility to find out what is causing the crash during games.
The utility uses Windows mini-memorydumps.
