HP Pavilion Desktop - TP01-0066
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Nevermind, the spec sheet for the erica motherboard used to say the m.2 SSD slot was x4, now it says x2, so they changed it after I bought the machine, because it definitely said x4 when I started SSD shopping a few months ago.

So the included nvme ssd is about all the port can do, and don't waste your money on any SSD that has a read speed of over 2000Mb/s, because you won't get anymore speed than that out of it.  So a WD Blue drive is great, the 3500/3400 Hynix Gold P31 I bought is running at half speed.

Well recommended nvme though, new 128L flash, fast reads AND writes, 5 year warranty, runs with the big boys like the 970, 8200 pro, etc for the price of a mid range drive. I paid $134 for 1TB.

Hello
sorry, if i'm wrong, don't take it the wrong way, not a reproach, but just so that we can clarify this!
If there is a mistake, there is nothing I can do for you, but at least to try to ask the hp staff about it.
You indicate that you have researched before buying the computer, and you saw that the m2 port was x4, except it is not the case now, is it correct?
It has here, so two models, is it not possible that the computer purchased is not exactly the same, or that you have not seen the correct document?
For your computer, indeed therefore, it is mentioned a m2 x2

TP01-0066 Product Specifications

One M.2 socket 3, key M for SSD (PCIe x2)
But there is the other model and it is always in m2 x4
the two models:

motherboard specifications, Erica

motherboard specifications, Erica2

One M.2 socket 3, key M for SSD (PCIe x4)

this model

for example here it is written erica
but if we click you have the model erica2 x4
