I am looking to upgrade the power supply unit on my desktop to a 600 watt PSU. However, I have been told that the PCIe slot is only 4 pins, contrary to the normal 24 pins since the motherboard is proprietary. Is there any possible way for me to upgrade the PSU? I really want to and have little budget.

@Jaiden2,

The HP 690 series utilize a proprietary PSU design.  This spreadsheet will explain. The max is 500W.   Your reference to the PCIe slot having 4 pins?   The main power and CPU power are 2x2 pins. There is also an  inline 7 pin (3 wires) for the fan power.  Video of 690 and the L05757-800  (500W) PSU install.
