HP 24-f0037nq
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone, this is my first post and I’m pretty sad it is about a problem I am having right now.

I received my 24-f0037nq 2 days ago. It works flawlessly, I love it and i consider it a nice buy. But...

I just cannot get used to the constant humming. The CPU fan is running constantly, even when the computer is idle (1% usage).
Some background:

- received unit, installed Win 10 Home 64 bit, WLAN driver

- installed all the drivers through the Assistant app (including the last BIOS update)

This is the moment when I first noticed the constant noise.
Tried to search BIOS for any fan settings, no success. Though, in Thermal, I’ve seen that the fan speed is oscillating between 1350-1400 RPM, and it perfectly matches the sound I am hearing.

I am thinking this is either a BIOS problem, or do I have a faulty unit?

Thinking to try to install the initial BIOS with a rescue USB. What do you think?

Thank you in advance!

@vanushhh,

If the CPU fan stops, the computer will overheat,  and shutdown.
