The "Windows Key" has been replaced with a "Home (internet)" key.  I NEED the windows key - or keyboard shorcuts that emulate it.

Hello @BigRedRandy,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.

I understand that you are having an issue with the keyboard, and wanted to assist you!  I see that the HP Wireless Keyboard does not have the "Windows Key".

It seems that for this keyboard, the Windows Logo has been replaced.  This keyboard seems to have been created to work with Android and Windows alike.  However, there are no keys present on the keyboard to simulate what the Windows Logo did.  Alternatively, you can try pressing CTRL+ESC to open the Start Menu.

@SDF15 - if you work on behalf of HP, no wonder HP has gone to crap - same as your advice. If you don't know the answer, don't jump on and give an incorrect one.

1. the <CTRL><ESC> key sequence does not replicate the functionality of the Windows key

2. There is a Windows key on the keyboard - just in a different location. It is on the right hand side and directly adjacent the <prt sc> key on the top row of the keyboard. It has an icon of some weird alien planet, instead of the standard Windows key icon. This makes it very hard for a purchaser to find and know its use.

@ HP - no documentation came with keyboard to decipher icons - very poor.

Hello @GraBaz,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

It seems reasonable, based on the original post, that the keys on the keyboard were tested to see what they did, before posting.

The original poster seems to indicate that they need the Windows Key, or a shortcut that emulates it.  I do not recall stating in my post, that CTRL+ESC replicates the functionality of the Windows Key.  I said that you could try pressing CTRL+ESC to open the Start Menu.  If you need further information on the CTRL+ESC key combination, you can find it here on the Microsoft site.  Microsoft provides a list of key combinations that will work with your Operating System.  It seems that on that site, the Windows Key, and the CTRL+ESC key, does the following:

Windows logo key: Open or close Start

Ctrl + Esc: Open Start

So it seems like that key combination will open the Start menu for the Operating System, as indicated in my previous post.  In regards to your second comment, I do not have the keyboard in front of me.  From the pictures, and information I was able to find on the keyboard, there seemed to be nothing to indicate the keyboard having a Windows Key.  This is the HP community forum.  HP representatives, experts, and community members alike, do the best they can with the information provided to them.
