I just purchased an HP Envy Phoenix 800-060 desktop PC.  HP no longer offers Windows 7, so I installed W7 as a dual-boot OS allong side Windows 8.  Unfortunately, the Win7 installation disc did not have drivers for network, wireless, bluetooth, or USB hardware that came with the PC.  I have searched unsuccessfully for Win 7 drivers that will enable the missing hardware.  Any suggestions?

Hi Jaco,

You're the man!  The driver utility you referred me to worked like a charm to enable Bluetooth.  Only the Nework Controller was marked in Device Manager as needing a driver and the wifi still didn't work.  Based on your suggestion, I started searching for a Broadcomm wireless drivers.  The first couple I tried did not work, but the third time was the charm.  A Broadcomm wireless driver for Windows 7 notebooks from 2012 did the trick.  I now have no disabled hardware and everything works great.  Many thanks for your help.

Regards,

Dave

Hey DavePDX1,

I understand you are looking for drivers for your HP ENVY Phoenix 800-060 Desktop PC for Windows 7.

You will have to check each of the Hardware details in the Device Manager and download each of them individually for Windows 7.

The Hp Support Assistant could help with drivers here is a link to download.

Dear MRstenter,

Ordinarily, this might work.  Things are complicated by the fact that I can not connect to the Internet from Windows 7, because of the missing drivers.  This also means I cannot connect through a Bluetooth network connection or through a USB port.  Without Internet, neither the HP assistant software or the Intel driver utility will function.  I have tried identifying the hardware through the Device Manager, but the only chip I can readily identify is the Broadcom chip for bluetooth and Wifi.  Broadcom does not post drivers on its web site.  The other hardware identification numbers in Device Manager do not show up through Google searches and the manufacturers do not appear to be included in the device id's.

I have ordered an Intel PCIE ethernet card, hoping it will at least enable an Internet connection.  If this works, then perhaps your suggestion will too.

Hi Dave,

Checked your mainboard specs. All processor choices are the new Haswell type. Sometimes you can install divers from legacy HP models with the same or similar mainboard. I don't think this option will apply in your case.

You need the correct Intel Management Engine Interface driver ( I believe this driver will provide USB support) and probably the Raid driver in addition to the network and bluetooth drivers. Have you tried Intel's website?

If you have exhausted all attempts to successfully get the drivers for Win 7, you could try this. I would try this but it could blow away the win 7 install? My reasoning for trying this is: Win 7 is broken and will never run correctly without those drivers so, in my case, the risk is worth the cost!

Copy the HP "SWSETUP" folder on the Win 8 install to an external drive. Boot to Win 7, open SWSETUP and drill down to the src folder for each driver you need. Run the setup file and see what happens. The install will either fail, install correctly or, unfortunately corrupt Win 7.  Again, I would take the risk but also realize it could damage the Win 7 install. I cannot test this theory for success or potential damage and should you decide to try it you are doing so at your own risk.

This may be a tough nut to crack!

Good luck!!

Hi Jaco,

Wow!  Thanks for the reply and all the information.  This should give me a lead on either solving the problem or understanding that it can't be solved.  I really appreciate your informative response.

Dear Jaco,

After installing a compatible PCIE Intel ethernet card, network and Internet connection was enabled.  After that, I was able to identify and download drivers for some of the devices that were missing drivers, but I still have two devices that show they are missing drivers in Device Manager.  The two devices are BCM207002A0, which I assume to be the Broadcomm Bluetooth/WiFi device, and the second is Network Controller.

The only actual functions I seem to be lacking are Bluetooth and wireless connectivity.  I am guessing that the missing Network Controller is for the non-functioning ethernet connection on the motherboard that I have circumvented by using the PCIE ethernet card.  If I now purchase a Windows 7 compatible PCIE BT/Wifi card, do you think that it will restore the BT/Wifi functions?

Any advise would be very appreciated.

Dave

Hi Jaco,

Thanks for the prompt reply.  This looks like it might work.  The drivers on the Broadcomm site just chocked during install and suggested contacting the hardware manufacturer.  I am surprised I did not stumble across the page you are suggesting  during my seach of the HP site, but I am glad to know about it.

I'll let you know how it works.  Thanks again for the help.

Regards,

Dave
