i can see green LED light on mother board but not powering up

i used new power supply also nothing happening

What originally happened to cause this issue ?  Was the new PSU a stock replacement, and HP Z240 TOWER BASE MODEL WORKSTATION compliant.

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..

Thanks Wb2001 for replaying on my question..

 

The PC was off for 3 to 4 months we have just try to on it and nothing happen the PSU was stock one and we have barrow the PSU of the other same model of PC for testing purposes..

As mention earlier i can see solid green LED light at mother board that is only the light working at present..

@Tanegaterry,

An unplugged computer would have been safe from a power spike.  A plugged-in power cord does allow what is called "stand-by" power to the motherboard.  A surge can then fry the motherboard.  That green led is only 5v. Pull the power cord, and re-seat all ram.
