OMEN 30L Desktop PC GT13-1000i (1S3R6AV)

Hello,

We have this machine [content removed]

OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-1794nz Bundle PC (4Q5S8EA)

We have added a new SSD in the second available slot of 2TO - PNY CS3140 2TB SSD - M.2 2280 MVME PCIe Gen4x4

After rebooting the machine, this new ssd drive is not visible in windows (disk utility) or identified in the bios.

The bios is up to date and Windows 11 too.

When this new drive is placed externally in a USB adapter, it works fine.

Is this disk compatible ?

Currently, there is a 512GB WD PC SN530 NVMe SSD for the system.

Thanks for your help

Use Windows's  DiskPart utilty  to setup the new SSD.

I showed an example of how to do that in a Knowledgebase article that I wrote.

Thanks, I tried but it doesn't work. My second internal SSD is still not visible.Capture d'écran 2024-02-04 134910.png

Using Diskpart you will need to go farther than you did.

In the article, I created a volume, a partition, formatted the partition, initialized the disk and assigned a disk letter.

The ssd was placed externally, formatted and a clone of the Windows system was created. This ssd is fully accessible when placed externally on a USB support. When placed inside the machine, it is neither recognized by the bios nor bootable.

Currently on this internally placed ssd there is a clone of the c:\ system.
It is fully accessible via usb..

I suggest verifying that the clone was properly done by replacing the original SSD with the new one and booting it up.

Leave the original SSD out when you try it.

What cloning program did you use?

already tried several times. The clone was made with DiskGenius and another software program... always the same result. That's why I placed the ssd in the second available slot on the motherboard. The idea is to leave the system on the original ssd and use the second ssd as a complement, like a second hard disk.

You tried what several times?

If you tried what I suggested in my last reply, you already have your answer, you just don't realize it.

That would mean that the cloning program did not create a good clone.

Not all cloning programs work as advertised. I have had success with Macrium, EaseUS and Acronis. Others can be pretty difficult to have success with.

I have never tried DiskGenius.

I realize that having  already done it hundreds of times on many generations of desktop and laptop PC with various operating systems.
