Hi I am in Need of a new power supply for my HP 510 p159a so I can use either a rx580 or GTX 1060 GPU the CPU is an i5 6400 however I plan on putting in an I7 6700t

@Obsidian_Hex , welcome to the Community.
You should be able to use any standard power supply unit (PSU) that will fit into the space provided. I like Corsair PSU's because they provide clean, stable power for your computer. Here is a HP Knowledge Base article that will explain what to consider when adding or upgrading a video card. Once you have read the article you will have a better understanding of which PSU's will work.

I am new to the whole PC build thing .
I will go and look at the Corsair PSUs and find an appropriate one.
Should be able to have a nice little back up unit of my son to get into PC gaming now.

Getting your son into PC gaming could be a lifetime thing. I am 78 and still game every day. The games I play may not be appropriate for your son, Sniper Elite 5, but any of them are fun. If you find a PSU and aren't certain that it will work just ask. I am here every day at some point.
