Hi everyone, I bought an HP Pavilion desktop computer a couple years ago for work and am just trying to set up dual monitors. On my receipt the name is Pavilion Desktop - AMD Ryzen 7, in the system settings the name is Pavilion Desktop TP01-2xxx. I’m not sure the best way to get the second monitor set up. Both my monitors use hdmi ports and I’m using one for my first monitor. There is another hdmi port with a black cap on it, can I take it off? It doesn’t come out easily. What are the ports next to the hdmi port that’s in use? Doesn’t look like hdmi or usb.

I haven’t seen any photos of a Pavilion online that match the back of my PC. I can get a usb to hdmi converter but wasn’t sure what was going on with the other ports.

Hi:

You can't connect a monitor to the capped output because the onboard video is disabled when a graphics card is installed.

The other 3 ports on the graphics card are Display ports.

If your monitor has a HDMI or DVI input you can buy the applicable Display port to HDMI cable or DVI cable.
