Power Supply and GPU Upgrade

HP Recommended
HP Pavilion Desktop Product Number: 3LA35AA#ABA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I would like to upgrade the GPU in my desktop to an MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB GDRR6 GPU. From what I understand my current stock supply will not be able to power the new GPU so I will have to replace that as well. Is there enough space in the case that this desktop comes with to meet the needs of these upgrades and will the GPU I have chosen function with this desktop?

@Fangscorpion42,

This spreadsheet will assist in the PSU selection.  Your HP 590-p0057c has a 310W PSU.  You need the 500W.

The PSU used in these models is proprietary. That said, you can not use a standard ATX 24 pin PSU.

In a real world situation, I would suggest you turn it off. Pull the power cord. Open/remove the side panel.

Cut a piece of heavy stock card board 4.3 inch high, and 10.0inches long. Try to insert it over the PCIEx16 slot area.. Place against the back inside edge. If too long, cut 1/2 inch and repeat until you have the maximum length.

1) Now you have the length of whatever GPU card would fit.

NVidia specs the RTX 2060 Super at 175W and 9.0".  That can vary with each manufacturer design.
