Omen 870-224na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

i've an Omen 870-224na with the i5-7400 CPU and 8 GB of RAM.  Per HP website specs, the machine should take up to 16GB RAM and the i.7-7700 CPU.  I've done RAM upgrades in the past, but can I really upgrade the processor?  And if so, can I do it myself or should I get a shop to do it.  Using video editing software, normally for Go pro editing, but of late for captured video game footage.  The latter really taxes the CPU (laggy. stuttering video in playback).

Thanks.  I've done a bit more research and verified my set-up.  My only question now is should I add additional cooling when replacing the processor - and if that involves pulling out the motherboard, I may get a shop to actually do that instead.  Thanks again!
