@old_geekster is quite correct: if your motherboard's SSID ('BaseBoard Product') is 8265, the fastest processor would indeed be the AMD A12-9800 according to Page 58, Chapter 4 of the Manual:
However, according to: UserBenchmark: HP EliteDesk 705 G3 SFF Compatible Components, there are HP EliteDesk 705 G3 SFFs fitted with motherboard SSID 835B. If your motherboard's SSID happens to be 835B, then you can fit it with the AMD Ryzen 7 1800X, which is a considerably more powerful processor than the AMD A12-9800: UserBenchmark: AMD A12-9800 APU (2016 M.BR) vs Ryzen 7 1800X.
How do you find out what motherboard you have?
Type system information in your Windows search bar.
Right-click on the System Information App, left-click on: Run as administrator, answer: Yes to allow access, and you'll see something like this:
Please look to the right (the "Value" column) of the "BaseBoard Product" line. What number/ID shows up on your PC?
Kind Regards,

@jotsangha123 , welcome to the Community.
Here is the Maintenance and Service Guide for your workstation. On Page 58, Chapter 4 Removal and replacement procedures – small form factor (SFF) chassis, is a complete list of compatible processors. These have all been fully tested to assure that they are compatible with the motherboard. If the processor is not on the list it will most likely not work.
Please click the "Yes" button if my reply was helpful and "Accept as Solution" if your problem is Solved!!
