I would like to upgrade the 180W PSU in my HP TP01-1070 desktop to support a graphics card that says it recommends a minimum 300W supply. I've read online that I can use an HP 400W L69242-800. Is that true? If so, then I have a concern. When I compare the P2 connectors between my 180W PSU (L70042-006) and the L69242-800, I see that the 180W P2 connector has a purple wire which is missing from the 400W PSU P2 connector. Is it okay that the purple wire is missing? It looks like that may be standby +5V. What will i be missing by not having that purple wire?

I am not sure -could be a standby +5V wire or it could be a second ground (-) wire. If you have a voltage meter, you could check. Regardless, the spreadsheet I referenced earlier says this power supply is compatible, missing purple wire or not.
How I resolved a similar issue was that I purchased the item from an eBay Seller who allowed returns...

Welcome to our HP User Forum!
That is correct, according to: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Knowledge-Base/Power-Supply-Cross-Reference-for-specific-model..., your Baker motherboard is compatible with the 400-watt L69242-800 power supply:
Hope this was helpful.

Thank you very much for the confirmation that the 400W supply should work on my mother board, but what about the difference in the P2 connector? My 180W supply P2 connector has 4 wires where one is a purple wire. The 400W supply has the same size and pitch P2 connector but only 3 wires are loaded. The purple wire is missing. What is that purple wire for?
