Hi there,
I'm hoping that I'm able to upgrade my current 16gb RAM up to 32gb, if you could please help me?
This is the information about the computer and motherboard: https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c04639159
I have all stock components currently. I'm currently getting errors saying that I'm lacking memory. Diagnostics show what's there is working fine.
I'm wondering whether it's possible for me to buy 2x8gb RAM and install this alongside what's already there? If so, what RAM can I buy please?
Thanks a lot,
Gavin

You can try to buy just two other modules, but with the same characteristics
You can help yourself with this:
https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
and try the SCAN (just to help, you don't have to use this mark)
Otherwise, yes, either buy the modules identical to those in place!
Either buy 4 different modules, but you can always test with only two, they can work very well together

Hello
what is the use of this computer ..
when, and what exactly is the error message?
I ask the question, because I have an old pc with 10gb memory running windows 10, and I don't get this message, even while playing some games!
Could it be a lack of disk space?
- amount: 16 GB
- Speed: PC3-12800 MB/s
- Type: DDR3-1600
- Dual channel memory architecture
- Four 240-pin DDR3 DIMM sockets
- Supports DDR3 DIMMs
- PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333)
- PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600)
- Supports 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB or 8 GB DIMMs
- Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems
note:
32-bit systems cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory. - Supports up to 32 GB on 64-bit systems
Otherwise, you need to buy identical modules
In some cases, if the modules do not match, it is necessary to buy a complete kit, in order to have all the modules of the same brand / characteristics!

Hi Promethee,
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I have it when playing games, but I use my computer for a lot of things that make it run slower than it used to (I can have 50+ tabs open for my work most days). I'd just like to have it run well regardless, especially as RAM is very cheap.
Are you saying if I use 4x8gb I will need all 4 of them to be the same? (That is, I need to get 2 identical ones, or 4 new ones?)
How then can I find out what I have already please?
Thanks
