HP Pavilion HPE h8-1240t
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Can I upgrade RAM of HP Pavilion HPE h8-1240t to combine 8GB with existing 4GB DDR3 DIMMS or should I replace all 4 slots with 8GB DDR3 DIMMS? Are upgrades still available for this PC?

Hi:

Below is the link to the motherboard specs for your PC.

HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - Motherboard Specifications, IPMMB-FM (Formosa) | HP® Customer Support

It supports 4 x 8 GB of memory.

If you want to combine 4 and 8 GB chips you need to install 2 x 8 GB in the same color slot and the 2 x 4 GB in the same color slot.

For example:  If you have 2 x 4 GB in the black slots, then you need to install the 2 x 8 GB in the blue slots.
