I have a HP Compaq Elite 8300 CMT (convertible Micro Tower). Yes. Ancient machine....

Would Radeon HD 8490 work with my machine? Product here , https://www.ebay.ca/itm/For-Dell-ATI-Radeon-HD-8490-1GB-GDDR3-Desktop-DVI-Video-Card-NV4N2-MX401/223...

here is my power supply:

I only have a USB 3.0 adapter installed in X1 express slot as extra card.

Also, if you could recommend some good cards for my HP, I would appreciate it.

I think you can do better than that one.

 

Radeon HD 8490 vs GeForce GT 1030 (gpuboss.com)

 

I installed a nVidia GT 1030 graphics card in my older HP 8200 Elite CMT.  Works great.

You're very welcome.

 

Besides being a better card performance-wise, the Nvidia GT 1030 also has up to date drivers for W10, where the HD 8490 only shows driver support through W8 on the AMD website.

 

And it only has a 30W power draw.
