HP Pavilion Desktop - TP01-0066

I'm just wondering if ram upgrades are even possible on this pc. I have some ram in mind, that being Crucial RAM 16GB DDR4 2666 MHz CL19 Desktop Memory CT16G4DFRA266. I just want to know if this is compatible with my pc or if I run any risk when buying this for my pc.

Your PC can be upgraded to 32 GB of installed memory.

Check the list of guaranteed compatible memory listed in the web page at the hyperlink below.

https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/pavilion-tp01-0066?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_Nyz...

The module that you asked about is in the list of guaranteed compatible memory modules.  Don't forget to upgrade in pairs! Remove the original memory to prevent the possibility of undesired results(i.e. failed upgrade).

Hey so, the new ram I was talking about it. I put it in and it worked yesterday, but today it wouldnt start my pc. It would turn on and everything, but not on my monitor, wouldn't boot. I took the new ram out and it started fine. Is there a setting I didn't have on or something? or do I just have a faulty stick

I hope you did not buy one memory module and add it to the one you already had.

Using two identical compatible memory modules  is a prescription for a successful upgrade.

If you try one at a time, you should be able to see if one or the other has issues.

The HP PC UEFI Hardware Diagnostics does have a test for memory modules.

Ah, thats exactly what I did. I see now, thats probably my issue huh

Unfortunately, that is a yes.

That does not always happen, but in your notebook's case it did.

There are probably differences between them in timing, voltage requirement or configuration,  so they are not playing well together.
