HP All-in-One - 22-df0212d

Original come with 4gb - hardware reserved 500mb+

After i upgrade to 8gb - hardware reserved become 2.1gb

BIOS have no option to change it.

8GB desktop but 2GB hardware reserved, 3gb for system which means only 3GB is usable.

Is there any way to reduce the hardware reserved RAM?

Hi:

Your PC was intentionally designed that way.

HP released this document a while back, which explains the memory shortage...

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06526774

This seems to only apply to models with AMD Ryzen processors.

Info on Microsoft PlayReady.

There is nothing you can do about it, other than to install additional memory.
