Hi:
In order for memory to run in dual channel mode you have to have matching memory capacities installed in both memory slots (2 x 4 GB, 2 x 8 GB).
Even if you do, the memory will show as running at 800 MHz.
If the memory is running in dual channel mode, you multiply the 800 MHz x 2 to get the 1600 MHz speed.
It works that way on every PC made.
You can run the free utility that I zipped up and attached below and it will show you whether or not the memory is running in single or dual channel mode.
I your notebook only has 1 x 8 GB of memory; it is running in single channel mode at 800 MHz.
Be alert for scammers posting fake support phone numbers and/or email addresses on the community.
