HP Recommended
Pavilion 6230in
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My desktop model is pavilion 6230in and currently installed with 2+1 GB ram . Is it possible to install 4 GB  or 4+4 GB to change the RAM? How much is the maximum expandable limit of my desktop?

@Shibinlal

I can't find your machine, it must be very similar to the following machine

           HP Pavilion p6-2316s Desktop PC

You should be able to install 8GB (4GB + 4GB) as shown from its specs

Memory upgrade information

  • Dual channel memory architecture
  • Two 240-pin DDR3 DIMM sockets
  • Supports DDR3 DIMMs
    • PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333)
    • PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600)
    • PC3-14400 (DDR3-1866)
  • Non-ECC memory only, unbuffered
  • Supports 1 GB, 2 GB or 4 GB DIMMs
  • Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit* systems
  • Supports up to 8 GB on 64-bit systems

Regards.
