Firstly, apologies to the community and Paul for posting an related question to this thread. I am shame-faced, but I'm new and don't yet know how to contact an individual just yet. And the thread I want to respond to, is closed. So please forgive me if I interject here, I don't know what else to do to get to Paul. 😞
Paul,
This is with regard to this thread, https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/dc5800-microtower-microcode-upd... ?
Paul, you gave help with microcode update, to upgrade from a E1200 cpu (with CPUID, 6FD) to a E8400 cpu (with CPUID 1067A).
Does this mean your micro-code patch will work for other cpus with CPUID of 1067A ?
I'm asking to see if you think your patch will work on the Xeon X3363 which has the same CPUID.
Cpu-world.com is reporting, the E8400 and the X3363, have the same (CPUID/Family/Model/Stepping) info.
Again, sincere apologies to everyone...
And any insights you can share, Paul, is greatly appreciated.

Hi:
If you have a dc5800, below is the link to the quickspecs which list the supported processors on page 7.
http://www.nordykassociates.com/pdf/dc5800%20QuickSpecs.pdf
Unfortunately I would not know the answer to your question.
Since the Xeon X3363 is not a supported processor. the microcode update may or may not work.
All you can do is run the microcode update, install the processor, and see what happens.
If I had to make a bet, I would say it won't work.
