Solved!

SSD Compatibility

HP Recommended
Desktop HP Pavilion Gaming 690-0021ns
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to buy an SSD (Samsung EVO 860 Basic) and install the OS here, with the HDD as an additional storage drive.

The motherboard as another Sata port for an additional HDD drive, but can I connect a normal SSD in this port, and use it like the boot drive?

The other option is the M.2 2280 slot. Is the Samsung 970 EVO Plus or Samsung SSD 860 EVO compatible?

Here you can see my PC specs: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06068628

And here the motherboard: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05991291

SATA is SATA.   Any 2.5"SATA device will work at SATA speed.

The M.2 NVMe SSD socket is 5-6 times faster than the existing 3.5" SATA600 1TB hard drive.

Installing a Samsung EVO 970 Plus is the best option.

I don't wan't speed, I want a normal SSD, not a M.2. The motherboard as another Sata port, so can I connect a SSD here?

The two M.2 disk I mentioned as a different connector type, which one is compatible with my M.2 slot? Both are fine?

Bro, you are the expert. Tell me if the SATA port in my motherboard is compatible with SSD. A normal PC by pieces is compatible with everithing, but this thin fabricated by HP is rare and dont have enought specifications.

Dont want to buy a this to realice that it is incompatible.

If you want to use a 2.5" SSD instead of a 3.5" mechanical drive, then do so.  Just do not expect a major increase in speed.

I can't do it cuz I don't know is the motherboard is compatible with SSD. That is the reason I'm asking this in the forum.

Physically I can connect the SSD with the SATA port, but if the motherboard support it is another talk.
