Samsung 860 EVO M.2 SSD and Pavilion Desktop 570-p020nt compatibility

I bought a Samsung 860 EVO M.2 SSD drive, I can't see this disk in system nor do I can't see in the BIOS no the device manager (it does not appear as unformatted). Is the motherboard SSD incompatible?

I'd like to thank you for the detailed description of your concern, as you have ensured I don't have to ask any more questions, that said,

It does have 3 expansion slots: 

• One PCI Express x16

• One M.2 socket 1, key A

• One M.2 socket 3, key M

Welcome to the forum.

I am not an HP employee.

HP, as well as other system integrators and motherboard OEMs, sometimes implements M.2 sockets to accept only PCIe NVME devices. Some M.2 sockets can see both SATA and PCIe drives.

Return the SATA drive. Get a PCIe 3x4 stick drive.

A PCIe stick drive is about four times faster than a SATA stick drive.
