HP pavilion i5-8250U, 8GB RAM
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a HP Pavilion laptop with i5-8250u processor and 8 GB RAM on Windows 11. Every time I start the laptop it freezes and becomes very slow. I can’t even start a browser. Disk usage 100%. After waitin 1 or 2 hours disk usage drops below 20%.  When I read the specs my laptop should be able to run Windows 11.  I already tried McAfee PC optimizer without result. Please help.

Hi @rgorts

In windows search type CMD, in the result click run as administrator and type (One at a time and then enter)

sfc /scannow

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

then restart windows and check.

Hi Resistencia,

Thanks for your help.

The first command resulted in successfully repaired corrupt files.

However the second command resulted in error 87: the online/cleanup-image/scanhealth is unknown. The same result with third command. Are there other options to continue?

Rudolf

This error occurs when the command is mistyped, or you have an incorrect DISM version, update your windows.

  • DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
  • DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
