Hi so I have an HP compact dc7800 and I was wondering what motherboards can fit inside of it so I can upgrade also if possible it needs to be a DDR3 motherboard supporting an I5 CPU

Hi:
You can only fit a motherboard from a dc7900 in the dc7800 case, and it wouldn't be worth the project.
The dc7900 still uses DDR2 memory and runs basically the same processors at the dc7800 can.

You would need a HP 8100 Elite to run a first generation Intel core processor and DDR3 memory.
The HP 8000 Elite uses DDR3 memory but can only run the same processors as the dc7900 can, and the motherboard from the 8000 Elite will not fit in a dc7800/dc7900 case.
