Hp desktop I5 8th Generation. The desktop (pc) soft drink spilled in my fan ventilation cover into my motherboard while the pc was on, i did not realised it until the pc shut itself down. When i wanted to check the power light thats when i saw the droops pooring into the cover i took off from the power socket , removed everything and whipped the motherboard waited for it to dry outside in the sunlight.  When i put everything together the fan was working fine however the mouse keyboard and the motherboard light they are not coming on. I wish I had better news to give you, but you have had an encounter with one of the arch enemies of PC motherboards.

Sugared tea, coffee and soft drinks.

The only thing to do is have the mother board inspected or source a replacement for the PC.

You can remove the  storage device (HDD or SSD) and use an appropriate type USB enclosure to recover your important documents and photos.

I can't say what king of enclosure because you did not identify your desktop.

"Hp desktop I5 8th Generation." is way too generalized of a description.

Look at the rear of the PC for the HP product name and product number on a label.
