I have got a Elitedesk 800 g3 and above the usb ports there is some sort of compartment. it seems like a dvd player but there is no way to open it can someone tell me what this is?

It is for a Slim optical drive (Optional). Here is the Maintenance and Service Guide for the computer. In Chapter 1, Product features, Page 2, it shows a diagram of the front panel components. The item in question is #1.
